Joanna is a strategist and futurist. As Global Director of Foresight & Exploration at McDonald’s, Jo helps propel the strategies of one of the world’s best-known brands into the future, with humans at the center. Prior to leading foresight at McDonald’s, Jo co-created a new strategic futures function within Mars Wrigley’s global organization. Jo’s career has spanned brand innovation, strategic transformation and award-winning creative communications at Mars Wrigley, General Mills, Essity and Devondale (Saputo) in the Australian and US markets. An advocate for curiosity and differentiated thinking, Jo created the Looking Outside podcast to explore fresh business ideas. She is a champion for strategies empowered by curiosity and creativity, and loves speaking with diverse thinkers. In 2022 she was nominated by the ESOMAR board to build collaboration with Insights and Foresight professionals as US representative. Poland born and Melbourne raised, last year Jo moved to the United States from Australia with her husband and rescue dog.
