Prior to joining Astanor, Valerie was a founding team member at Almanac Insights, a New York-based agrifood impact investing firm focused on hospitality, CPG, and food system technology companies. There, she was responsible for sourcing and executing investments, as well as portfolio management. Before Almanac, Valerie managed special projects at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, including the wastED pop-ups in New York and London and the launch of Blue Hill Yogurt, the brand’s first nationally distributed CPG product. She was also an early member of the team at LivingSocial, a pioneer in the online local marketplace for daily deals. Valerie holds a B.A in International Studies from Middlebury College. She currently lives in San Francisco, CA.
