Ravi Sreenath is the co-founder and managing director of Ripple Research, a Switzerland-based research advisory firm that operates at the intersection on data science, behaviour change and social impact. He is a global impact architect and strategist with over 18 years of experience across 15+ countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia. He has spearheaded the development and scaling of transformative products and solutions, driving tangible value for international organisations, Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and social-impact startups. Ravi’s comprehensive understanding of food systems, from production to market linkages and policy advocacy, enables him to design and implement strategies that drive significant shifts in dietary patterns and ecosystem resilience. He has led and advised initiatives for organisations such as World Wide Fund UK, Changing Markets Foundation, UN-ITC, and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In the last few years, Ripple Research has been involved in several projects that explore the prevalence and impact of misinformation on public discourse and policy decisions across key areas such as climate change, public health, digital democracy, and food systems transformation. Using large-scale behavioural and cultural insights, our research exposes how bad-faith actors hijack online conversations to exacerbate societal polarisation and impede progress on sustainable dietary shifts. Most recently, we uncovered narratives, events, and key “misinfluencers” fuelling false information surrounding sustainable food systems in the context of the 2023 Dutch Farmer protests. Our recommendations have informed advocacy campaigns, program design, and policy interventions that encourage social and behaviour change at scale.
