Svenja Dannewitz

Dr. Svenja Dannewitz is the CEO of Senara, a pioneering company in cell-cultivated dairy. With a background in biotechnology and mammary gland biology, she has been at the forefront of developing biomimetic milk production, bridging scientific research with commercial scalability. Under her leadership, Senara has made significant breakthroughs in cell-cultivated milk, including a 750,000-fold increase in production capacity and a 60,000-fold reduction in media costs—key milestones in making sustainable dairy a reality. Dr. Dannewitz has secured three patent applications covering the full milk cultivation process and established strategic partnerships across 10+ countries with academic institutions, food manufacturers, and biotech companies. Her work has earned international recognition, including finalist placement in the Food Ingredients Europe Startup Innovation Challenge 2023 and a ranking in the FoodTech 500 (297th globally). A passionate advocate for collaboration within the dairy industry, she believes in integrating cell-cultivated milk with precision fermentation and traditional dairy to create a complementary, future-proof dairy sector.
