My educational background combines deep scientific expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset. I obtained my undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Newcastle University before directly moving on to pursue a PhD at the University of Cambridge. My PhD was focused on structural and mechanistic aspects of protein behaviour in bacterial and mammalian cells. Apart from investing my time in research I have also completed two entrepreneurship courses at the Judge Business School in Cambridge, where I gained invaluable knowledge and experience in starting my own company. In the last year of my PhD I joined the Carbon 13 venture builder program with a focus of meeting co-founders and building a business that will help us to combat global warming. That's how BravelyCultured was born – a company dedicated to sustainable protein production by precision fermentation, which is critical for addressing the challenges of global warming. I am now proud to serve as co-founder and CEO of BravelyCultured. As a fun side note, I also discovered a passion for improvised theatre during my PhD. Going on stage in front of an audience without a single line of script is therefore a usual part of my weekly routine.
