Sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do at The Future of Protein Production and our parent company The Future-Proof Group.
The Future of Protein Production Summit is a fully virtual platform and community designed to serve the alternative protein industry. By running the show as a virtual conference and exhibition it will create less than 1% of the carbon emissions of a live event – a three-day conference with 800 attendees has a carbon footprint of 455 tonnes, corresponding to an average of 0.57 tonnes of emissions per participant. This is by far the most sustainable and efficient way to bring the industry together.
Of course, this does not mean that the show is held without emission so what is leftover is offset through partner schemes. 1% of every ticket sold is contributed to Stripe's CO2 removal project (stripe.com) and The Future-Proof Group is also a member of 1% For The Planet (www.onepercentfortheplanet.org) so 1% of revenue is contributed to tackling our planet's most pressing environmental issues. The parent company Future-Proof Group Limited is currently applying for net-zero certification.
The Future-Proof Group accepts responsibility for the harmful effects it's operations have on both the local and global environment and is committed to reducing them.
The key points of it's strategy to achieve this are:
1. Minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
2. Minimise toxic emissions through the selection of efficient products and the source of its power requirement.
3. Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst its customers and suppliers.
4. Source and promote a product range to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution.
5. Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to The Future-Proof Group.
Some of the methods used to achieve this are:
Use an accredited program to offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our activities.
The Future-Proof Group will measure its impact on the environment and set targets for ongoing improvement.
The Company will implement a training program for its staff to raise awareness of environmental issues and enlist their support in improving the Company's performance.
The Future-Proof Group will encourage the adoption of similar principles by its suppliers.
